Part of my weekend adventure today is trying to find the perfect shade of white paint for our cottage walls. And who knew there were so many lovely shades of white and they all come with such charming names. Wish me luck!

Decor Dilemma - The Fireplace

One of my first renovations to our little cottage is our lounge room fireplace. With outdated poorly renovated early 70's brick and a sad looking brown gas heater, it is in desperate need of a makeover. These are some of my favourite fireplaces that I've gathered from some lovely blogs. As always I'm very drawn to the fabulous design and aesthetic of Sibella Court (image 4) and it seems I have a thing for white. My only problem, we need to get rid of the old brick and replace it with a delightful mantel piece (I think this will be easier said than done). Will keep you updated with our progress, bring on the hammer and chisel!

How do you get organised?

I've been pondering this question for a little while now and would just love to hear from you. How do you organise all your favourite links and images on your computer? I seem to have lovely pictures saved all over the place and I finding it hard to keep track of where they all came from. I'd love to know if anyone has any tips or wonderful ways of getting one's computer organised.

Today we are taking our guests to Trentham Estate winery to enjoy a lovely little picnic by the River. These amazing photos by Mikkel Vang inspire me to dine outdoors all the time, preferably under a giant chandelier adorned tree. A Writer's Desk...

My writing desk is finally all unpacked and enjoying its new home by a delightful little window. The perfect spot to enjoy the morning sunshine. I just love my new writing spot and am especially excited I found the perfect place to put my Eiffel Tower print, which is actually a fabulous piece of Cavallini and Co. wrapping paper.

Hope you enjoy a lovely start to the week. I'm off to finish making the house look lovely for my favourite guests (my parents) who are arriving this afternoon.

Moments of Us..

It's all stations go around my little library nook this morning. You see, I'm very excited because my parents are coming to visit us tomorrow, all the way from Brisbane, so we are making our little nest all lovely for their arrival. As we are in for another hot day, so the plan is to work this morning, have a little siesta in the afternoon and then head out into the garden at dusk to continue pottering.

I just love finding the perfect spot for all the bits and pieces I collect, part of my bowerbird nature perhaps. Yesterday I put together a pretty little vignette above the fireplace, using lovely thrifted and found items, that remind me of some wonderful adventures my hubby and I have shared.

Yarn in the Afternoon...

New yarn, a cup of tea and some lovely sunshine on my front porch.. a perfect Saturday afternoon. I've been inspired by Dottie Angel's crochet cushion covers, so I'm off to create one of my very own.

PS. My new little white chair is from Rose Harvest and I think it's just delightful. I'm sure it will be featuring in many a coming post.
